House of Rum Nicaragua 2004 (70cl, 58.8% - Rum Company Exclusive)
A Rare Discovery from One of Nicaragua’s Finest Distilleries
This exceptional single cask rum was distilled in 2004 at Compañía Licorera de Nicaragua—a family-owned distillery nestled at the base of the San Cristóbal Volcano, in the heart of sugarcane country. Founded in 1890, the distillery is celebrated for its commitment to sustainability and craft, producing naturally aged rums with no added sugar, using volcanic-filtered water and carbon-neutral methods. It’s best known for the world-renowned Flor de Caña, but this cask reveals a different side of its legacy—one rarely seen.
Cask No. 253 (Rotation Z04/3944) is a beautifully aged Nicaraguan rum that spent its first 9 years resting in American oak ex-bourbon casks, sealed with traditional plantain leaves in the tropical heat of Chichigalpa. In 2013, it journeyed to the UK for a further 12 years of slow, quiet maturation in a cooler climate, building extraordinary depth and complexity along the way.
Bottled in 2025 by House of Rum at natural cask strength (58.8% ABV), this 21-year-old spirit offers no shortcuts, no sugar, and no additives—just pure, unfiltered elegance. Only 220 bottles exist.
