Named after ‘Barti Ddu’, pronounced ‘Barti Thee’ or ‘Black Bart’ in English, an infamous forward-thinking pirate once revered as the most powerful man on water. Black Bart left Pembrokeshire to work in the Navy but his ship was defeated by pirates. For lack of any other option, Black Bart joined the pirates and excelled due to his sailing skills. During his reign Black Bart was believed to have captured over 400 ships, and wrote the famous pirate code, introducing the concept of democracy and quality amongst all on board his ship. A merry life… but a short one.

A bold-flavoured spiced rum infused with wild hand-foraged Pembrokeshire laver seaweed (Welshman’s caviar). Brimming with vibrant spice notes of creamy vanilla, cinnamon, clove and subtle sweet citrus orange are complemented by the delicate savoury undertone notes of the laver seaweed.
The savoury Laver seaweed offers delicate, savoury notes with an umami profile, magically complimenting other spices. The seaweed infusion acts to soften yet lift the initial favours and propel them forward whilst keeping the Caribbean rum superbly smooth.

A versatile and accessible spiced rum. Smooth enough to sip, but punchy enough to stand up in a mixer.
Enjoy neat, over ice with a slice of orange. For a simple serve pair with cloudy apple juice (‘Apple Black’), ginger beer (‘West N Stormy’), cloudy lemonade (‘Dark & Cloudy’) or cola.
Try a party in a glass with a sweet and fruity‘Barti Parti Punch’. Mix 2 parts Barti Spiced Rum, 2 parts orange juice, 2 parts pineapple juice, 1 part lime juice and a dash of Angostura bitters.
Another refreshing option is ‘Spooky Cranberry Punch’. Mix 50ml Barti Spiced Rum, 50ml cranberry juice, 100ml ginger ale and the juice of half a lime.
