Severed hand Hazelnut Rum

The Black Powder Gin Distillery, overlooking the coastal peninsula of West Lancashire, are producers of exquisite liqueurs, whisky, port, gin and rum; spirits influenced and inspired by the family home, Preese Hall, established in 1086.

“Meticulously crafted”

Severed Hand Rum is named after the mysterious severed hand found in a shipment from Per to their site at Presse Hall Farm in the 1800s. There are many legends that severed hands were a warning and punishment for breaching an oath, a loss of humanity through criminal activity or just an unfortunate industrial accident. However, it was never known how the severed hand came to be, but the symbol lives on.

The bold cadaverous bottle design, featuring a skeletal severed hand, will stand out in any rum lovers’ collection.

Premium, single-origin Caribbean rum, aged in ex-Whisky barrels is blended with notes of roasted hazelnut, rich toasted brown sugar, dried fruits, hints of chocolate, warm cinnamon biscuits and floral Madagascan vanilla with an oaky kick. Rich, toasted nut flavours with warm, sweet brown sugar and light spice.

Light, mellow and flavoursome.

“Wonderfully versatile”
