The Severed Hand Rum range is bought to us by the unique Black Powder Gin Distillery, overlooking the coastal peninsula of West Lancashire, producers of exquisite liqueurs, whisky, port, gin and rum. The distillers pride themselves on using their own Orchard produce or sourcing directly from the very best producers from around the world.

Spirits influenced and inspired by the family home, Preese Hall, established in 1086

“Macabre magic”

Severed Hand Rum is named after the mysterious severed hand found in a shipment from Per to their site at Presse Hall Farm in the 1800s. There are many legends that severed hands were a warning and punishment for breaching an oath, a loss of humanity through criminal activity or just an unfortunate industrial accident. However, it was never known how the severed hand came to be, but the symbol lives on.

The bright yet cadaverous bottle design, featuring a skeletal severed hand, will stand out in any rum lovers’ collection.

Premium aged Caribbean rum is blended with notes of rich toasted sugar, floral vanilla, a kick of cinnamon and layers of coconut. Rich, beautifully smooth and full-bodied with an explosion of flavour.

Enjoy neat, over ice or in your favourite cocktail…

Feeling inventive? Try a Severed Hand Cranberry Mule. Mix 50ml Severed Hand Caribbean Rum, juice of half a lime, 2 parts ginger beer and 1 part cranberry juice. Add crushed ice and optional fresh Rosemary sprig garnish. A peppery, spicy cocktail with a bright red hue befitting of the rum’s macabre name.
